Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, privately met with Pope Francis during his historic trip to the U.S., according to her legal team.

Davis and her husband Joe met with the pope at the Vatican Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 24, according to a statement from the Liberty Counsel.

The Vatican Press office has not confirmed or denied that the meeting occurred, and the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, D.C., has not commented on the matter.

ABC News' Terry Moran asked Francis Sunday night if he supports individuals, including government officials, who claim religious liberty as a reason to disobey the law.

Francis responded, "I can't have in mind all the cases that can exist about conscientious objection, but, yes, I can say that conscientious objection is a right that is a part of every human right. It is a right. And if a person does not allow others to be a conscientious objector, he denies a right."

When asked if that includes government officials, Francis said, "It is a human right and if a government official is a human person, he has that right. It is a human right."

Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Tells ABC News She's Been Called 'Hitler' and 'Homophobe'

Earlier this month Davis was jailed for nearly one week after she refused a judge's order to issue marriage licenses in Rowan County, Kentucky, to same-sex and heterosexual couples. When Davis returned to work, she said she wanted her name and title removed from the licenses being issued by her office.

Last week Davis told ABC News' Paula Faris that she feels her Christian beliefs trump her day-to-day responsibilities.

"My constituents elected me. But the main authority that rules my life is the Lord," she said.

Davis' stance has drawn intrigue, reverence, scrutiny and scorn. She has been called Hitler and a homophobe, she said.

"What people say about me does not define who I am. That's everybody's opinion and that's everybody's right," Davis said.

"I've been called things and names that I didn't even say when I was in the world. Those names don't hurt me," Davis added. "What probably hurt me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me or that my God is not happy with me, that I am a hypocrite of a Christian."

Last week, ‘Lord’ Disick sparked speculation that he wasn’t happy with a Keeping Up With The Kardashians promo clip, which showed Kourtney crying after discovering THOSE photos of him and Chloe Bartoli in France.

Taking to Instagram, he shared the photo above with the caption: “Just stop.”

Although the post could’ve be aimed at a whole range of people (your standard #haters, for example), followers were quick to speculate whether this was aimed at Kourt, with one user commenting: “posted after the promo. Love him but damnnnnn.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s cause of death is officially known, but it’s being kept under wraps for the time being.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to Us Weekly on Saturday, Sept. 26, that the findings of Brown’s death have been ordered sealed by a judge. Previously, police confirmed to Us that the case surrounding her death was being treated as a criminal investigation and TMZ reported on Saturday that the medical examiner’s findings were being withheld pending criminal charges.

The only daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown died on July 26, at the age of 22, six months after being found unconscious in a bathtub of her Georgia home. Brown’s longtime boyfriend, Nick Gordon, 25, was questioned regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident. He has repeatedly maintained his innocence, saying he had nothing to do with her death. After appearing on Dr. Phil in March of this year, slurring his words and threatening his own life, he checked into rehab but then checked out in April.

Brown’s conservator filed a lawsuit against Gordon in June accusing him of physically abusing his girlfriend and withdrawing funds from her bank account without authorization. After her death the lawsuit was amended to add a count of wrongful death against Gordon.

“We will leave no stone unturned in seeking justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown,” Brown’s conservator Bedelia Hargrove said in a statement to Us in August.

PEDOPHILIAC DAD TRIES TO DROWN HIS 3 KIDS IN A LAKE BEFORE CALLING 911 TO CONFESS

The eight-minute 911 call from a frantic father in North Carolina went like this:

“I just drowned my two daughters in the lake back there … ’cause CPS wanted to take them away from me. 

I was dealing with some pedophilia things, OK, OK. I was dealing with some sexual desires that I was trying to get some help with, but instead they turned their back on me, the whole system, and tried to take my kids, and they took the rest of the, of the little happiness that I had.”

Those were the words from 29-year-old Tysheen Eugene Lassiter. WRAL says an off-duty Durham County Sheriff’s deputy, David Earp, raced to save the children from the lake where Lassiter had thrown them in. Earp is credited with actually pulling the 3-year-old and 5-year-old little girls out of the water. The eldest child, a 7-year-old boy, somehow managed to escape and get help.

CPR was performed right away until paramedics could arrive. The victims were rushed to the hospital, the report said, where one is in critical condition, but the other is stable.

Kendall Jenner's half-sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian have vowed to "feed on" the air of class she brings their family.

The 19-year-old appears on her family's reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but her main focus is on her modelling career. During this month's New York Fashion Week (Sep15) she walked for the likes of Marc Jacobs and Diane von Furstenberg and she is also the face of beauty giant Estée Lauder, something her sisters are stunned by.

"Before I got the contract, I’d heard from a lot of people that a contract with a company like Estée Lauder was like a stamp of approval, a stamp of your legit-ness. So getting that was a really big step for me," she told WWD.

"The other day, Kourtney and Khloé were going to the airport, and they saw a huge billboard with my Estée ad. They took a picture of it and Instagrammed it. They say, ‘You’re the cool and classy one in the family - we’re going to feed on this and bring it in to our lives.’”

Kendall has grand ambitions when it comes to her career, not least because she wasn't sure she'd be accepted as a model when she started out. Now she's proved she has what it takes and has even made it onto the Forbes highest earning models list, she hopes people will take her seriously.

In the future she wants to be "one of the best", revealing her career inspiration comes from looking at the way Christy Turlington is still "killing it".

It's not only the model's time on the catwalk which has seen her thrust into the limelight. This year (15) her father announced he was transitioning and became known as Caitlyn Jenner, something which Kendall is still computing.

"It’s been a ride, for sure. It’s an adjustment. It’s something you have to get used to. But I’ve known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I’ve known for a very long time," she said. "It’s the same person. My dad says it herself sometimes, it’s kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is. My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad - that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got.”
