GCE Withheld Results to be Made Public
The Registrar of the GCE Board, Humphrey Ekema Monono says the results that were withheld during the release of the June session of the examination will be made available and public in the days ahead. Mr Monono said the results were withheld for further investigations into alleged malpractices that ranged from copy work to pre-prepared materials. He said sanctions will be meted out to centres found guilty while those who merited their results will have it.

Presidential couple are back home
The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA and Madam Chantal BIYA returned to Yaoundé on Saturday September 12, 2015 after a brief private stay in Europe. The Presidential Couple were warmly received at the Nsimalen International Airport by State personalities and an enthusiastic crowd of party militants. The President of the Republic granted audiences to the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic and the German Ambassador to Cameroon. Meanwhile, the First Lady had a chat with the spouses of the close collaborators of the Head of State.
Fire outbreak at Douala New Bell Prison
On Saturday evening, September 12, 2015, fire partially consumed the Douala New Bell Prison. The fire damage the old prison and left three inmates seriously injured. The security forces surrounded the prison to prevent the inmates from escaping. The flames were finally controlled at about 8:00pm. According to prison authorities, the fire started around 6:00pm in a cell where an inmate was cooking. The flames eventually consumed ten cells and part of the administrative block. The New Bell Prison was built in the 1930s for 800 inmates but now has over 4 000. The New Bell Prison is one of the oldest and most dilapidated in Cameroon.

CICC to introduce Cameroon’s coffee to Italian markets
The President of the Inter-professional Council for Cocoa and Coffee (CICC) of Cameroon will be leading from September 13-19, 2015 a delegation of 20 Cameroonian coffee-roasters to Trieste, Italy for the World Expo. This was the substance of a release signed by the President of CICC on September 11, 2015. In addition, the CICC emphasized that the delegation going to Italy plans on repeating the prowess from last June in France, where Cameroonian coffee-roasters won three out of five awards during the International Contest of Locally Roasted Coffee. It should be recalled that Cameroon is one of the rare countries in the world to produce the Arabica and Robusta coffee.
Suicide bombers kill 7 in north Cameroon town
According to military sources, seven people have died in suicide bombings in the northern town of Kolofata. According to Midjiyawa Bakari, Governor of the Far North Region, the blasts occurred when two boys between the ages of 14-16 years blew up themselves simultaneously in two different locations on Sunday morning. He said 18 people were severely wounded and were moved to the hospital in Mora. The attack came one day after the Nigerian commander of a five-nation force to fight Boko Haram visited the Mora military base in northern Cameroon to install Brigadier General Bouba and his 2500 troops.

87 dead in Grand Mosque in Mecca from fallen crane
At least 87 people were killed with 183 injured when a crane crashed in Mecca's Grand Mosque on Friday in an accident that came just weeks before Islam's annual Haj pilgrimage. Reports have it that the crane had fallen because of strong storms. Recently, western Saudi Arabia has been hit by strong storms in the last few days.

Nigeria’s President Visits France
At the invitation of French President Francois Hollande, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari today Monday September 14, 2015 begins a three-day working visit to France. According to Buhari’s special adviser Femi Adesina, the visit will focus on further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and France in the areas of defense, security, trade and investments. The visit comes at a time that Nigeria and its mostly French-speaking regional allies are waging an intense battle against the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

Egypt government resigns amid corruption inquiry
Egypt's government has resigned and the country's oil minister has been asked to form a new cabinet within a week, the office of President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has said. No official reason was given for the government's resignation. However, a senior source was quoted as saying the aim was to reshuffle the cabinet following a corruption scandal. Last Monday, Egypt's agriculture minister was arrested in connection with the corruption inquiry.
Ghana judges challenge suspension over bribery claims
A group of Ghanaian judges allegedly caught on camera asking for bribes have filed a legal challenge to their suspension. Of the 22 suspended lower court judges, 14 have filed to the High Court, saying the judicial council's investigations have no basis in law. Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas conducted a two-year undercover investigation into the judges. It is the biggest scandal in the history of Ghana's judiciary.
