►Fight against Boko Haram: Cameroonian General Installed
The Commander of the Multi-national Joint Task Force set up to fight Boko Haram, Nigerian born Iliyasu Isah Abbah installed the Commander of the First Military Sector of the Multi-national Joint Task Force, Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo today in Mora. During the ceremony, he said ‘the political, economic and cultural activities of Cameroon and other countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission must continue despite the security threats from Boko Haram’. Brigadier General Iliyasu Isah Abbah said countries of the Lake Chad basin will not let Boko Haram install its reign of terror.

►CAMAIR-CO is back in the sky
Close to 320 passengers of CAMAIR-CO who were stranded at the Yaoundé and Douala International Airports finally took off for Paris (France) on September 9, 2015. They travelled via a hired airbus from the Nsimalen International Airport after days of protests against the company's inability to cater for them. According to officials of the national airliner, “the ongoing maintenance of the company’s biggest aircraft is the cause of the crisis.

►Mobile radars for Road safety
Henceforth, mobile highway traffic radars will be used to reduce road accidents in Cameroon. The Minister of Transport, Robert Nkili, launched three new radars in Nomayos on the Yaoundé-Douala highway and Nkol-Nguem on the Yaounde-Bafoussam highway on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Mr Nkili reiterated the need to strengthen sensitisation on major highways in collaboration of the forces of law and order.

►Pope Francis to visit Africa
The Vatican has announced that the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church will make his first trip to Africa come November from 25-30, 2015. Countries to be visited include Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic. Pope Francis is heading to Cuba and the United States next week. With the Africa trip, he will have visited all continents except Oceania in his first three years as pope.

►Corrupt Ghanaian Judges undergo Investigation
Some 22 of the Ghanaian judges allegedly caught on camera asking for bribes have been shown the videos at the start of the investigation. The hearing has been held behind closed doors at the Supreme Court. The judges' responses have not been made public. A total of 34 judges and magistrates are to be investigated after a two-year investigation by a local journalist. It is the biggest scandal in the history of Ghana's judiciary.

►US marks 14th anniversary of September 11 attacks
The United States of America are commemorating the 14th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks today. On September 11, 2011 two planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York, another hit the Pentagon and a fourth crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, before reaching its likely target of Washington. Nearly 3,000 people were killed, including 19 of the perpetrators. Families of victims have gathered in New York today for a ceremony where the names of those killed in the terrorist attack will be read.
